Paradise Lost has seemingly unending caves that were discovered by workers in 1996. An exploration and excavation by archeologists revealed 8,000 to 12,000 year old human remains. Obsidian rock artifacts from the Late Stone Age, over 2.5 million years ago, were also discovered.
The caves were shelters, eroded by the water of the nearby Gichi River. They are located in 52 acres of forest behind a waterfall. Visitors can walk and crawl through a labyrinth of caves, which was made possible by lighting some parts of the caves. Professional guides will explain the British and Mau Mau history surrounding the area.
There are a variety of bird’s species at Paradise Lost which can be viewed as you take a nature trail through the forest of indigenous and exotic trees while enjoying the crisp freshness of the outdoor atmosphere.
