The cascading fourteen falls which are a collection of fourteen falls as they falls 25ft below to form one River Athi.Fourteen Falls is located in Thika about 65 Kilometers North East of Nairobi off the Thika-Garissa Road turning at Makutano junction.
Fourteen falls derives the name from their 14 distinct waterfalls on the broad section of the River Tana which converge in one large pool.
While at fourteen falls, there is the option of taking a boat ride across the river. A local guide will lead you down a rocky path to the base of the falls where you board a boat for crossing the river which the experienced guide does, guiding the boat using a long pole.
Enjoy breath taking views of the falls from the boat as it navigates leisurely downstream, back upstream and then across the river to a rocky bank on the other bank.
A fine spray hangs in the air at the base of the fall which is characterized by large slimy boulders and the powerful sound of rushing water as it cascades down the 25-foot drop. You may stroll around the rocks at the base of the fall and enjoy the fresh air and captivating view of the numerous species of birds.
The guides also entertain visitors by diving from the top of the falls to the mist covered pool below.
